Z6 Consulting LLC is pleased to announce that we’ve received an updated ANAB-accredited testing certification for ISO/IEC 17025. This re-certification demonstrates Z6’s commitment to conform to the highest quality testing service possible for creating and maintaining better building envelopes.
The ANAB completed an assessment ensuring that our in-house laboratory and all our mandatory testing comply with the updated ISO/IEC 17025 standard. The evaluation took place from August 8th – 10th, and after passing the assessment, the ANAB sent us the updated scope with a new expiration date of October 2024.
What Does ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Specify?
ISO/IEC 17025:2017 specifies the general requirements for the competence of testing laboratories. Participating in regular proficiency testing programs is a standard requirement to demonstrate ongoing competence to perform the testing.
With the current ISO/IEC 17025 re-certification, we’ve demonstrated our continued compliance with the standard. To this effect, we’re deemed to have competent quality management systems in place and are found to be technically competent in producing precise, accurate test and calibration data. Additionally, with this accreditation, we have taken another step toward expanding our service offerings. Below are the standardized tests that ANAB performed to ensure our compliance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017:
- Water infiltration
- Air filtration
- Water and air infiltration
- Deflection/Deglazing
- Uplift force
- Roofing, window sealant, foundation humidity, and cladding moisture absorption
- Whole building enclosure airtightness compliance
During the latest assessment we have extended our scope and added three more tests:
Pull-off Strength of Adhered Weather Barrier (ABAA T000202019): This test method uses a construction load cell pull tester to test the pull-off strength of adhered weather barriers.
Electronic Methods for Detecting and Locating Leaks in Waterproof Membranes (ASTM D8231): This test is used for testing waterproof membranes using high and low-voltage electronic detection units. We are still accredited for ASTM D7877 for detecting and locating leaks in waterproof membranes.
Filed Test Procedure for Determining Resistance of Roofing Fasteners (ANSI/SPRI-FX-2021): ANSI/SPRI-FX-2021 standard outlines the field test procedures for roofing fasteners using construction load cell pull tester units.
